Are YT’s Uncaged Builds Worth the $$$ 2

 

Finding the right bike can be challenging, and once you've made that decision, finding a build that fits your budget with the parts you want is no easy task. YT Industries hopes to simplify this process with their Core and Uncaged build kit philosophy. Their goal is to offer all their models at various price points, with a low barrier to entry, quality parts where it matters, and unique build kits you can't find anywhere else.

We picked up a Core 3 and Uncaged 11 build from YT's Mill in San Clemente, CA, to find out what separates each bike, what riders should consider before buying either, and ultimately answer the question: are Uncaged builds worth the money?

Thanks for the review, would have added some back to back timed testing to make it more interesting.

For sure, back-to-back testing is always interesting, and with how similarly built these two bikes were, I'm curious how different times would have even been. I still think the takeaway for me was that the different suspension products gave each bike a unique personality. I'd assume the Uncaged with Ohlins was faster, but it was always less engaging/fun to ride at times.
