Worth noting that this was just a practice run, the man is just having fun but still looking so smooth and fast in sections. Chain reaction put up another helmet cam that's even better btw

The upper turns of that track are what make enduro racing so god awfully unappealing to me. I despise the notion of having to slam on the brakes for a corner on a flat track, only to spring back up to speed, for no good reason. I know the endureros out there will say, "that's mountain biking!", but it shouldn't be. Tracks like that just aren't any fun to me and I don't build trail that lacks consistent (dare I say it?) flow like that. A corner like that here and there? Sure, but not so many in a row. Saps the fun right out of it for me. Flame on...

Roller coasters like you have described may be fun but I like the challenge of erratic (at times) tracks that keep you thinking guessing reacting and improvising. I don’t mind using my bars, brakes, pedals and skills. Stage two was a blast blind and way better than any homogeneous bike park flow trail

C'mon. You know me well enough to know I'm not advocating for trails and race tracks to be "roller coasters", and you know I prefer rough, technical tracks over "bike park" stuff. I totally agree with you about using your "bars, brakes, pedals, and skills", but that's not what I'm talking about in this instance. I'm simply not a fan of trail segments with a staccato feel to them. Like I typed above, a corner like that here and there is great, and I'm all for requiring the rider to find the best line through any section. Maybe you said it best - "erratic (at times)".

This is racing. What's fun to ride and what makes a good race track are two different things. Not every track suits every rider (unless your name is Sam).

The best racers just see it as a challenge and get on with it.

They could build an uphill sandpit in the track. Everyone would have to race the same uphill sandpit. Strictly speaking, it would be fair. If it was short enough it probably wouldn't even change the outcome of the race. But do we want uphill sandpits in our races? Probably not. Is it reasonable to say uphill sandpits are dumb? I think so.

I'm hearing a lot of ideas that amount to "the track is the track, and you shouldn't complain or question it." That seems like a limiting attitude to me.

I don’t man, but ballr never rides rollers coasters, he really hates them- they make him sick, almost as sick as shitty corners.

man, this track is to a high percentage the DH track used for nationals and panamerican DH cups.... enduro, dh, c;mon...... this is a track that goes down mostly. By the way, this is not stg 2, this is Stg 03 , track is called "Panamericano"

Most of this track looks amazing to me. It's just the top few turns that bummed me out watching. Once those are over with, things look super fun.
