WORLD CHAMPS DH COURSE PREVIEW - Val di Sole is Still Brutal 7

Troy Brosnan and Kye A'hern will give you armpump just from watching this run down the 2021 UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships track. Whoever was complaining about the Val di Sole track being turned into a bike park didn't ride it like this. World Champs happens in about a month. Rough!

Having been there for the last world champs in 2016, I can attest to how steep it is and that the camera does not do it justice. The turns on the ski run in the first 1/3 used to have very little support and keeping speeds lower and time differentials higher compared to what they've done with several added "bike park" berms. I noticed quite a few corners and bench cuts having more support than years past so I think the racing will be a good 1-2mph faster and times tighter. Maybe this is good in the television crew's eyes, but I'd rather watch slightly slower tracks that will bring greater time differentials.
That being said, and I can't stress it enough, THIS TRACK IS STEEPER THAN IT LOOKS. For all you people who might think it's just a rough bike park trail, it is probably not rideable for many who aren't at an advanced level in DH.

Track looks mint. The editing/cuts between follow cam and front rider, not mint.

Agreed. Some spots will have multiple good lines and some areas could be made super tech with the right taping. Can’t wait to see what lines Reece Wilson cooks up.
