Hydraulic Bottom-Out Technology: Let's explain how the Hbc works from who made it first in the MTB industry!
Unique technology exclusively dedicated to control the last few millimeters of rear damper travel. This technology provides an extra damping force against bottom-out while dissipating all the energy.
The HBC system uses a secondary piston and a bottom-out inner tube and when the shock is compressed , just on the last 10 mm of damper stroke, the secondary piston goes inside the bottom-out inner tube.
On the graph it is possible to see that on the first cycle (less stroke) the damper works normally but when we increase stroke and is working in the HBC area you can see a peak of force on the right part of the graph.
That point is exactly where the secondary piston goes through the bottom-out tube. When we close the HBC adjuster we increase the peak only on the last few millimeters (HBC area) where the force developed is much more than before at the same speed.
