I posted this on the YouTube.  What happens if you CROSS the tape OR the poles IN THE MIDDLE of the course?
At 8:28 & further down course at 9:29, they have the middle of the course completed taped off and BLOCKED OFF with poles.  If you slide off the high line and go into that tape job, you're still "INSIDE" the outside boundaries of the tape on course.

BUT...they're BLOCKING off terrain in the middle of the trail, not just taping and letting you ride either side of trees.
When it rains, I can see riders messing up at either point on course and crossing the through that dead zone.

Are you DQ'ed? Do you have to go back and re-enter at the point you crossed the island in the course? Or can you keep on ripping???

you're making it more difficult than it is. it's the marked course and tape creating a boundary (or zone) that can't be crossed w/o DQ. the rider must go on either side the tape/pole/zone. if that boundary is broken, the rider is off the track (regardless of being "inside" the outside tap). if that boundary is broken, they must go back up and re-enter the course where the infraction was made.

In that case, there should be absolutely NO ISLANDS installed in the course.  Mark the exterior boundaries.  Spray rocks to highlight them.

But that tape job on the ground at the 2 points I'm indicating are the most assanine and idiotic tape job I've ever seen!  Shit is on the ground!  
If you hit the high line above the tree at 8:28 but your rear wheel slides down and over that stupid tape or pole behind the tree, you're DQ'ed!

The moron that taped that like that is the biggest idiot in all of taping.  It's utterly ridiculous.
