Unrideable for some, barely rideable for the best, the Enduro World Series in Manizales, Colombia was a battle of survival after rain soaked the race courses overnight. If you're Sam Hill, you just go about your business as if it was dry.

Graves damage got me to thinking about how to salvage a weekend of riding if you snapped your shifter and I found a somewhat useful tip. Pin the bolt . Set the chain on a gear you can use, pull the cable out the front of the shifter housing and pin the cable down to a bolt on the bar/frame acting as a pinch bolt to keep tension on the derailleur. Then you'll have a single speed. Tune with the barrel adjuster to the gear and enjoy. Sounds smart in theory, tough to execute in reality probably. Is Graves able to have a new one installed at the liason?

not sure on what can be replaced mid-race. i think if he carried a spare shifter with him he could change it? didn't he have a shifter issue last year too? when keene sacrificed his race for graves by giving him a shifter? it's rough out there! gripshift would solve these problems LOL

Ironically, you are 100% right. My guess is that Graves is getting too old and just riding haggard is why he's breaking stuff. I know that's what happens to me these days. (Not being serious in the slightest Grubby)

Brutal af!! Obviously Hill is supreme but I do wonder why the others don’t swap out the clips for flats in those conditions? I would have thought a definite advantage to be had when it’s that slippy..

When you see the best bike handlers in the world tripodding down the trails you know it is tough.

Also the difference watching Richey vs Hill is pretty dramatic. Hill is relaxed but attacking while Richey is in the backseat. You can just see the difference in them mentally for those conditions. Compare that to Richey in dry conditions and the guy is an animal.
