Though he doesn't actually say so in the interview, Rob is one of the owners of Santa Cruz Bicycles and was fairly well-known for his skateboarding in the 80's. The Machine grills the legend.

I have never thought of Santa Cruz as a marketing driven company. It's cool to see the owner is into riding. I think he goes to all the world cups too. You don't find that in other companies.
