Flat Pedals
Specifications
• IGUS friction bushings made in Germany on the crank arm side
• Available in three different axis lengths, providing a physiologically natural foot position on the pedal
• Slightly concave platform
• To provide the maximum foot-contact surface, the pedal surface is flush with the pedal axle
• Large platform size (115 x 105mm)
Axle Lengths:
Small: -5mm offset length, for shoe size 36 - 40
These pedals can be used by cyclists with small shoe sizes and with a parallel foot position, requiring a narrower Q-factor. Especially in combination with a small sitbone distance and small hip width, it helps keep the feet as close as possible and leg joints aligned.
Medium: 0mm offset length, for shoe size 41 - 45
The standard dimensioned pedal axle for most cyclists as offered by the leading pedal manufacturers.
Large: +5mm offset length, for shoe size 46 - 50
These pedals can be used by riders with large shoe sizes and those whose natural foot position is “V” shaped when viewed from above. If the feet are forced to be parallel on the pedals, it may no longer corresponds to the natural position of the feet, and knee issues can result. If you are affected by such a problem, especially if pain is experienced on the outside of the knees at the fibula/fibula head, then your feet should be positioned on the pedals in a more natural position is replicated. Usually, this results in the heels clipping the chainstays or rubbing on the cranks. A longer axle pedal will provide the additionally required space for the improved foot position.
