The Deity Copperhead stem, with looks inspired by a Copperhead snake, was designed to be a lighter option along side the popular Deity Cavity stem. In testing however, they found it to be not only lighter, but also stronger than their Cavity stem and other stems currently on the market.
Available in three lengths, 35, 50 and 65mm, and eight different high polished ano colors, including a newly released bronze. The Copperhead has a short 30mm stack height, 10mm shorter than most all other stems available. This gives riders a little more adjustability in handlebar height up and down steerer tubes. The short stack, along with zero degree rise, and stubby 35mm length, is perfect for dialing in cockpits on bikes with today's longer top tube measurements with wide bars.
Mounted to a 2018 YT Jeffsy CF 27 size medium, the 35mm Deity Copperhead and 25mm rise Deity Skyline bars immediately dialed in my reach and improved comfort and handling characteristics.
With multiple lengths and colors available, light weight, and bulletproof strength the Copperhead stem can be mounted to almost any bike build for every type of riding, DJ, DH, AM, XC, Trail, Enduro, it can handle it all. This versatility, along with it's aggressive snake like inspired lines, look, and CNC machining, makes the Deity Copperhead stem probably the most fashionable and functional stem you can buy.
Only available in 31.8mm bore, however a 35mm bore option and new carbon handlebar line are rumored to be coming soon...
Reviewing the 50mm reach black ano version:
I hate to come off sounding jaded with regards to bike parts these days, but it seems like almost every mfg is playing in a commodity market where the expectations are it has to work and it has to look good (and, if applicable, have space for not one but two full-size water bottles). In the case of this stem, I’d say they nailed it. It’s held up so far (unlike my previous 2 stems) and looks good mounted to the front of my bike. It’s on the slightly more expensive side for an aluminum stem but it’s not wildly pricey.
If I were in the market for a new stem, there’s absolutely no reason in my mind to not buy another one of these.
