Lizard Skins Northshore Lock-On Grip

Function

Lock on grips all start to seem the same after a while. These grips break the mold for me. The first cool thing is that Lizard Skins donates a portion of their profit from this grip to the NSMBA which pays for trail building and maintenance on the famed North Shore. I used them for a season, then I got a new bike that came with different grips.  I tried to like those but after a week or two I had to switch back to these.  The large square pattern gives amazing grip and absorbs vibration well.  They remind me of the oldschool 1990's bike grips from when I was a kid.  Lizard Skins uses a rubber that is firm with a little give.  That makes for a really comfortable combo.  If you like a thicker profile (these are 33mm), these will be a great choice.

Durability

Lock on grips are great because the lock rings take the abuse instead of your bar.  A few bike tips plus some crashes have worn away at the black finish, but the lock rings are still in good shape.  The rubber compound has lasted well.  I purchased these grips in August of 2015.  I am getting ready to replace them this spring (2018).  I could get more life out of them, but the rubber is starting to break down.  I am satisfied with the value I got out of these.  I will definitely be buying them again.
