Durable, reliable.
The Good
Problem free, good engagement. Did I mention problem free?
The Bad
Not the lightest hubs out there.
Overall Review:
I was told when I bought my Hadley/823 wheelset 5 yrs ago that they would last. I have replaced the rear bearings once and that's it as far as major maintenance. I did note the front hub can develop slop, but is easily dealt with tightening the bearing preload bolts. I have done this maybe 4 times in 5 yrs. Besides these two points, I have actually done no maintenance at all on the hubs. (bad bike rider, bad!) Probably the best general DH setup around and maybe have a Hope/Flow setup for race-day if you want.
Very Nice Hubs
The Good
Low maintenance durable hubs. Have them on my dirt jump bike and the rear has the same engagement feel as the Kings on my XC bike. Have been great hubs and plan on running them for a long time. Have had zero issues with them and they just work great. They are at the top of my list for future wheel builds.
The Bad
I wish Hadley had a website with all their hub info available.
Overall Review:
Great durable long-lasting American made hubs.

Great Hub for DH
The Good
Ive got 5 seasons of dh on mine and it spins and looks just like it did the day I got it.
The Bad
None, this thing has been flawless.
Overall Review:
This is a sweet hub I am getting it laced to a new rim and expect alot more years of riding out of it.

*Smooth (most of the time)

The Bad
See below..
Overall Review:
Built front and Rear on 823's, ride Whistler, regularly throughout the summer and local Dh trails, rebuilt them after one season, bearings started to go.. also had play in the front hub... seemed to be fine after rebuild, but never as smooth as King's or Hope's. Went back to Hope's this season, cheaper and maintenance free..Could be that I'm biased, since I'm English and my last Name is Hope..

Freeride burly
The Good
Minimal maintenance, bulletproof when built with Mavic 823 rim
The Bad
Only being able to have 1 of these on one bike ;)
Overall Review:
I've been riding the same Hadley hubs on my freeride/DH setup for over 3 years and have never had an issue. They handle all the abuse and more
