I've owned two other Chromag pedals, they are the (Aluminium) Contact, of which the Synth is based. In a blind test, I would not be able to tell the difference and when I switch from my trail bike to my park bike (with Contact), I get the same feeling underfoot, which is contrasted by the different cockpit setup.
Overall, its a high quality experience. A decent-wide platform for most shoe sizes and enough pins to keep you locked-in. Take advantage of the option to remove their spacers for a slightly deeper pin penetration - Karver-style. No flexiness or other stange experiences, just a few more dollars in my wallet.
One mod I've taken advantage of is removing all of the pins of one side, which allows the pedal to slide over obstacles it contacts. Being Nylon, they slide easier than an Aluminium counterpart.
Bearing and bushing (one-each per pedal) will easily last more than one season, like the Contact. And removal and replacement is simple with the video-guide on the Chromag website.
