Transition Reveals Full Details and Graphics for All-New 2014 TR500 8

For 2014, Transition went back to the drawing board with their TR450, redesigning pretty much everything from the ground up. The result is the all-new TR500. The new ride features a hydroformed top tube, integrated fork bump stops, internal routing in both the main frame and swingarm, two dropout positions for stability and more... Of course it's lighter, faster, and stronger, too.

TR500 Highlights

  • WHEEL SIZE: 26" (27.5" Compatible)
  • REAR TRAVEL: 203mm or 180mm Rear Wheel Travel
  • REAR SHOCK: 9.5" x 3" (Forward Pin 22.2mm x 8mm, Rear Pin 22.2mm x 8mm)
  • FRAME MATERIAL: 6061 Heat Treated Aluminum
  • SIZES: Small, Medium, Large, XL
  • COLORS: Orange, Pearl Green, BattleShip Grey
  • WARRANTY: 2 year defect warranty, lifetime crash replacement.
  • SEATPOST/CLAMP: 31.6mm Seatpost / 34.9mm Clamp

  • BOTTOM BRACKET: 83mm BSA
  • REAR DROPOUT: 150mm x 12mm
  • CHAINGUIDE: ISCG 05 - 0mm Offset

The bike sports 180 or 203mm travel, adjustable via the front shock mount. The geometry is also now much easier to adjust - you no longer need to pull the shock, it's done at the blue colored pivot above the chain. Because this bike is now so versatile, it will replace both the current TR450 and the TR250. Single crown or dual crown builds work equally well with the two travel options.

All new suspension kinematics keep the bike higher in the travel for more available wheel travel and improved small bump and big hit sensitivity. There's also a new XL size for the tall guys or anyone looking for a little more length in their ride.

The bike was previously seen as a prototype at Eurobike under the TR450 name. Since then it gained a theoretical 50cc's of power and is ready to tear across the desert (or down your local DH track).
