Tioga's engineers decided to radically change the thickness of their pedals by getting rid of the axle entirely. 

Tioga Zero Axle Pedals
  • Maximum thickness of 7 mm (in some places it reaches 4 mm)  
  • Milled from a single piece of CrMo alloy
  • Bearings and pins are replacable  
  • Weight is 450 grams  
  • Over two years of development and intensive testing

Interesting to see how these hold up, I'd like to try a set, thats the only way to find out.

The bearing housing puts the pedal too far away from the crank arm. And at 450g? No thanks...

2 years of development and testing should take care of things I would have thought.

Otherwise someones had a ruddy good holiday on there Mac Pro, I like em myself give em a chance and see what happens eh.

Come on boys, these are STEEL, not aluminum. If you're gonna make a super thin pedals, then this makes sense eh? I suppose only time will tell if the bearing can hack it though...

sketchy indeed. remember the thin Atom Lab pedals of yore? blowed up a couple of them.

yeah it's thin. but they increased the q-factor which has an negative influence on ground clearance in corners.

plus, it looks like a fancy shaped light bulb.
