Spy Shot! Prototype Burgtec Clipless Pedal 5

If there was ever a company that held true to the "Flat Pedal Thunder" slogan it was Burgtec. Much to the dismay of their hard-earned fan base, today they leaked a photo of a prototype clipless pedal in the machining phase. As they wrote on instagram, "Yeah, that just happened." Watch out Strava.

The prototype has a similar outer profile to their new Penthouse MK4 flat pedals. What will the SPD cleat mechanism look like? We'll have to wait and see... Regardless, expect the same great quality and craftsmanship they're known for. If done right, these could actually be a game changer in the clipless world. There's a good chance we'll see them under a World Cup rider or two this season.
