Product Spotlight: 2013 iXS Knee Guards 1

For 2013, iXS is once again upping their game in the protection field. They now have one of the most comprehensive lines of knee pads available -long, medium, short, hard, semi-hard, soft... you name it, they have something for everyone and every type of riding.

The pads themselves have advanced as well. They carried over things like their tear resistant Nylon layers,integrated side padding, andSilicone pads to prevent slipping, but also added a number of new features to the line, as described below.We've got a number of the pads in the field being thrashed by the Vital MTB test crew, so stay tuned for some long term reviews in the coming weeks.

iXS Dagger Knee Guard

The Dagger models are made for heavier abuse and thus come with a hard shell reinforcement at the knee. Developed in cooperation with Darren Berrecloth, these knee guards also offer a bit of protection for both the shin and the thigh. After all, trying to ride freshly built obstacles can go wrong at times.

iXS Cleaver Knee Guard

The Cleaver shin and knee guards are based on the lightweight Signature series, but they feature more padding to offer some extra protection. Made of two different materials, its hard shells offer both a high degree of protection and lots of wearing comfort.

The Carve models are based on the Slope series, but they do without a hard shell and therefore are lightweight and very comfortable to wear.

iXS Flow Enduro Knee Guard

FlowCountry: iXS Sports Division teamed up with Hans Rey to develop this ultra-thin, lightweight knee protectors that are compact enough to fit in any backpack.
