First Look: SUNringlé SL Wheels and 2013 Answer ProTaper Bars

Here at Vital, we're big proponents of a handful of upgrades that are sure to improve your smiles per gallon on a bike. Ranging from a dropper post to wider bars and a shorter stem, the list also includes lighter wheels. Less rotational weight is one of the best ways to make your bike feel more lively and faster on the trails. Enter the new SUNringlé Black Flag Pro SL and Charger Pro SL wheels.

The new Pro SL Charger and Black Flag wheels feature Stan’s NOTUBES  technology, Wheelsmith bladed spokes and a taller rim profile for increased stiffness and better steering precision. Weight has also been shaved from the front and rear hub designs which feature multiple end caps to accommodate all of today’s axle configurations. The rear hub has 50% quicker hub engagement for faster power transfer than the original Pro series.

Pro SL Charger and Black Flag wheels are delivered with the multiple end caps, come with Stan’s yellow rim tape installed and have Stan’s sealant in the box.

The SUNringlé Charger and Black Flag Pro SL wheels are currently available in 26-inch and 29-inch configurations. The wheelset weight on the chargers is 1550 grams for 26-inch and 1700 grams for 29-inch. Black flag weights are 1450 grams and 1600 grams respectively.  27.5-inch wheels will be introduced in the near future.

MSRP's for the new SUNringlé series are as follows: Black Flag SL $899.99 for 26-inch and $924.99 for 29-inch. Charger SL $899.99 for 26-inch and $924.99 for 29-inch.

Also new from the Hayes Components family is are the freshly revamped Answer G2 ProTaper handlebars. Inspired by vintage F1 and dirt track racing, the bars are available in six new color combinations to accent your ride, including Red/White, Blue/ White, Black/White, Gold/Black, Black/Gold and White/Black.
