Anyone knowledgeable on aerodynamics?
If I'm not wrong, the speed holes are a bad thing because they break up the air trying to shed off the sides of the plate & create drag instead of a smooth stream?

On the other hand it would prevent a low pressure pocket behind the number plate or at least lessen it...
