After hosting the World Cup in 2018 Losinj, Croatia, is back on the schedule. This year the small Croatian town saw the first stop of the iXS European Downhill Cup and delivered all the goods.

A rough track in the dry, things got spiced up in Friday's practice when the rain hit. Riders fought super slick rocks and slow speed on the technical course. Luckily the sun made its appearance and conditions got better and better over the weekend.

A huge crowd gathered trackside on race day and made for a great atmosphere. Jolanda Kiener smashed the Women's field. She took a big win with an advantage of 14 seconds over Justine Weizel and Vilma Gombalova. One rider to watch is Vanessa Petrovska - the young Slovakian rider won the U19 female category and would have taken second place in the elite.

In the men's field Luka Berginc pushed hard and was rewarded by taking his first win of the season ahead of German Simon Maurer and Jure Zabjek. Tristan Botteram flatted halfway down just like in his seeding run but still ended up in 4th.

With a bit of a break the series will continue in early May on the demanding track of Maribor, Slovenia.
