Sam Hill had a rough go at the first Enduro World Series in Rotorua. Lagging from flu-like symptoms, he still managed a 13th place, but definitely not the result the 2018 champ expected. The CRC Nukeproof crew is in Tasmania feeling fresh and ready to rip. @maddogboris caught up with Jacy Shumilak, Sam's long-time mechanic, to go over the details of Sam's carbon Nukeproof Mega. The stock medium frame Sam uses runs 27.5-inch wheels and gets 165mm of rear travel. Prototype Sam Hill signature flat pedals are mounted up with a different-than-stock shape. His cockpit also features signature components. SRAM/RockShox provide drivetrain, brake and suspension duties. He has the new wireless Reverb AXS and Jacy hints at being on the wireless AXS drivetrain possibly at the next race in Madeira. Sam's on the Lyrik with the new damper up front and a Super Deluxe with a higher volume air can for rear suspension. Signature Mavic wheels keep his Michelin tires on and out back Sam uses a Nukeproof ARD insert. Look over the bike and get nerdy with Jacy in the audio.

Brush guards = Sam Hill.

New Reverb AXS from RockShox.

Reverb AXS shifter.

RockShox Super Deluxe with new air can. Sam prefers his squish to be softer at the beginning of the stroke with a consistent ramp-up. Because he rides flat pedals, ramping up too quickly can bounce his around.

Prototype Sam Hill pedal in a new shape.

Shin eaters.

New RockShox Lyrik that's not so new to Sam.

Sam runs 23psi in his front tire.

He's running 28psi and the Nukeproof ARD insert in his rear tire.

SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain. AXS at Madeira is a possibility.

MRP chainguide with bash plate.

Nukeproof stem with OneUp EDC.

Sam Hill signature grips.

Sam Hill signature Mavic wheels.

Ready to pounce.
