February 7th, 2023 – Last week, YT Industries announced they were redefining their sports team, The YT MOB, and that 2023 will see all their athletes and ambassadors racing and riding underneath the same flag. This year marks the MOB’s expansion into the Enduro World Cup, a series at the forefront of the sport combining speed, endurance, and technical ability. Their elite roster features three heavy hitters: Jack Moir, Christian Textor, and Kasper Woolley.
The MOB breaks tradition and is unlike any other team on the circuit. YT's investment in performance resonates throughout their program; the athletes even have a dedicated performance manager on-hand to ensure their physical and mental development aligns with their personal goals.
“I’m super stoked to join the YT MOB. It’s clear that they’re keen to win and have put together a really professional program with support from every possible angle. On top of that, we have the option to use whatever components we want. I couldn’t pass up that opportunity.” - Jack Moir
Their UNCAGED strategy is unique and allows the team to use whatever products maximize their performance. Throughout the season and various test camps, the riders can test products from different manufacturers, ensuring they're on the best possible setup for their needs.
“We’re committed to our athlete’s performance and giving them the freedom and support they need to win at the highest level. Our #UNCAGED strategy gives each enduro rider the ability to choose parts based on performance rather than sponsorship. I’m pretty excited to see what they change throughout the season.” - Jan-Philipp Becker, Head of Sports Marketing & Partnerships
Meet the MOB staff:
Gunnar Franke (Team Manager), Isac Paddock (Communication Manager), Jonny Thompson (Performance Manager), Patrick Eckl (Mechanic), Daniel Paine (Mechanic), Casper Van Geest (Mechanic), Rick Schubert (Photographer), Ralf Schupp (Videographer)
What was the main goal of the pre-season test camp, was there anything specific you were looking to try and change?
“My main goal was to spend a lot of time on the bike and to get to know the team! The UNCAGED strategy allows us to choose any components, so I was hoping to narrow down my options and get a good base to build on throughout the season. In the end, we surpassed my expectations for the week. I found a solid suspension setup with RockShox and tested some geometry changes (longer seat stay/reach and angle adjustments). I feel super confident on the bike and I’m already keen for Tasmania.” - Christian Textor
