Norco Bicycles has announced an all-new electric mountain bike engineered to give pedal purists a few less reasons to resist the electric evolution. It’ll also give e-assist-aficionados lots more of what they love with a nimble, playful trail feel for riders who’ve felt like full-power, full weight e-MTBs simply haven’t translated to why they love mountain biking.
Launching in parallel with Bosch’s brand new Performance Line SX ecosystem, the new Fluid VLT combines the German company’s new drive unit’s light weight and unmatched power density with a highly-engineered carbon frame to create a totally new e-bike that reflects the Canadian company’s signature Ride Performance.
Employing Bosch’s wireless closed system, including dedicated PowerTube 400Wh battery and 2kg drive unit, the new model will provide Trail riders with 55Nm of quiet torque and up to 600w of customizable, natural-feeling power output, along with other Bosch-exclusive features accessed through the custom Norco/Bosch Flow App. The 400Wh battery is removable for service and replacement but is engineered to remain within the frame between rides to prioritize performance and weight savings. Every size Fluid VLT can also connect to an optional Bosch 250Wh range extender battery.
The new Fluid VLT will also be precision-tunable in minutes using the Ride Aligned Bike Setup Guide, ensuring that suspension settings, fit and tire pressure meet the specific needs of the rider relative to their body proportions, riding style, and even the type of terrain they prefer.
The new Fluid VLT will be available in ultra-capable 140mm/150mm travel options, one all-carbon, and two carbon front/aluminum rear in addition to a gram-conscious but function-focused full-carbon flagship 130mm/140mm model weighing in at 38 pounds complete.
More information on the new Fluid VLT is available at www.norco.com, where the Canadian company also has an email signup for those hoping to get regular updates on spec, materials, availability and any additional information that emerges between now at its projected arrival in the Spring of 2024.
