Pants, trouser, breeks, keks, whatever you call them where you are, more and more riders are choosing to hit the trails in long pants nowadays. Endura might be the company that was built on baggy shorts, but they’ve got some awesome pants in their range too. This year they’re making like weight weenies and lightening up their MT500 Burner Pants and Jersey to create some seriously frosty riding gear.

I hope Endura improves fit. It would be interesting to see comparison between them, how the new kit fits, and which sizes, fit who, inseam, waist, are important, but also knee pad fit, not too tight or too baggy on thighs or groin area, and ankles.

Medium Singletrack 2 jersey has baggy bicep area, jersey fits perfectly otherwise, but sleeve is covering half of my hand. So I might need sleeve size of small, but torso of medium, but I've not tried Small.

while I need L trousers cus I have 82cm in seam, but this means I have way too big trouser waist so need to use a belt, knees are too baggy. This is the case on MT500II waterproof too, those have less stretch than Singletrack 2  trousers, also don't have issue with fabric covering the pocket zipper like Singletrack 2  does.

Large troursers has sleeve opening that fits with ankle braces like Space Brace 2. But by looking at the pictures here, it looks like the new summer kit will too.

Looking at the pictures of the models, I see the trousers are too short, but if it's summer and you wear socks that might be OK for you. No belt loops, so I don't know if I will be able to wear them if they continue with the massively too big waist. But belt loops are not needed if they made the straps actually usable for average measurement people like me.

I am 181cm, quite normal shape.

So far only jerseys I've tried so far that fit me perfectly: Mavic Crossmax and Crossmax LTD, great weave design, so they are durable, but they are too warm for summer use, despite their marketing. I wear EU Medium. And Large GMBN jersey, sleeve length is perfect on these too, collar too, not too baggy, no massive bicep area like Fox 180, 360, or lesser so but still too big Endura Singletrack 2. I will see how they do, but I made a hole in it on twisted fence wire but then tried to rip it further and it did not tear further. so looks promising.

But I am looking for better fitting trousers that has reasonable waist and has 82cm inseam, has pockets, does not use coil zippers, I know I can sew on new zippers later, but would be nice to have proper zippers from the start.

But how are they better for warm weather? No vents so it's just going to be a sweaty mess. I haven't found a warm weather pair of pants yet that actually work.

Pants in the heat is nice for overgrown trails, places with lots of Poision Oak, ticks, thorns, etc.

Why so many pants now? 

In the past - never wore pants unless muddy AF at a bike park OR cold and snowy. 

Wore pants once at 45 degrees this past winter, and warm legs allowed me to ride much better. 

What is the benefit of wearing pants when it's hot?

Just keeps your legs from getting cut up by thorns. A big factor I would say is ebikes allow you to wear lighter pants all summer without too much of a heat penalty.

About 2-3 years I went from shorts+pads every ride to pants and no pads every ride. Pants are so comfy nowdays and I feel much more protected for my trail network which is massive, but poorly maintained.
