A truly great mountain bike is more than just the sum of its parts – more than just a combination of carbon, aluminum, and steel. It’s the friend who motivates you to pedal towards new horizons, to immerse yourself in experiences and places you never imagined before that special bike rolled into your life. And for mountain bikers who burn for that kind of adventure, the Canyon Neuron is that bike. A 140 mm travel, 29er full-suspension all-rounder that hits the sweet spot of climbing efficiency, trail capability, and all-day comfort, the Neuron is the ticket to unforgettable adventures on unforgettable trails.
And now one of the most popular bikes in Canyon’s mountain bike portfolio is levelling up across the board. Lighter, faster, tougher, and more capable, the new Neuron is here, and ready for higher, longer, and wilder adventures than ever before. All thanks to a range of optimizations and new features including a revamped, confidence-inspiring trail geometry, improved handling, lighter frame options, advanced frame protection, and much more. In short, this is the perfect bike on which to make your next great escape.
Kerstin Kaufmann, Brand Manager MTB at Canyon Bicycles, explains the design ethos behind the new Neuron: “99% of adventure-minded MTB riders want that one great bike that just ticks all the boxes. That’s exactly what we’ve made with the new Neuron – a lightweight, comfortable, confidence-inspiring trail bike that does it all, and does it well. And thanks to a range of improvements compared to its predecessor, we’re proud to say that this is the greatest adventure MTB that we’ve ever made here at Canyon.”
In comparison to the previous generation, the new Neuron steps things up in a range of key areas:
Descend with more confidence: with a shorter seat tube (-20 mm in M, L and XL) and longer reach, you get more space to maneuver when the trail gets tricky. Ride faster, ride stable: the bike feels more planted, more stable, and less twitchy at speed thanks to a slacker head angle. Pedal stronger: enjoy a more upright, forward position for powerful pedaling thanks to a steeper 76° seat tube angle. Crush the climbs: the Neuron CF’s full-carbon frame is now an astounding 200g lighter.
Less time wrenching, more time riding: fully sealed internal cable routing and robust bearing seals keep out dirt, minimizing maintenance requirements. Plus reinforced bolts and improved pivot seals mean seasons of hassle-free performance. Advanced frame protection: the Neuron frame is ready for the long haul thanks to its adjustable chain shield, adjustable chain guide, chainstay protector and replaceable downtube shield (CF bikes)/discreet transparent foil downtube protector (AL bikes). All that’s to say, this is a bike that’s built for serious adventure on serious terrain.
Available at a price point of €4,999, the Neuron CF 9 SL is built around the all-new 200g lighter Neuron CF frame and comes fitted with high-end components across the board – high-end FOX 34 Float Factory fork, wireless SRAM GX AXS shifting, powerful SRAM Code RSC brakes, and superlight DT Swiss XMC 1501 carbon wheels.
