Anna Newkirk joins Frameworks Racing 5DEV along with the returning roster of Asa Vermette, Angel Suarez and Neko Mulally for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Frameworks Racing will compete in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Series, World Championships, and Pro Downhill Series. All four riders will race aboard the Frameworks Downhill bike developed over the past three years by Neko, Asa, and Angel.
Frameworks Racing is proud to expand our partnership with 5DEV and bring them on as the title sponsor of the team. 5DEV is a San Diego-based manufacturer of precision CNC parts and has supported Frameworks Racing since the beginning, increasing their support each year as our team has grown. We compete with their cranks and chainrings, and they provide our team with custom CNC components that are used both on our race team and production frames.
I’m really excited to be joining the guys on Frameworks Racing! It’s pretty cool for me to be joining a team with a good crew of people and great sponsors. I really like the bike and the setup and am excited to see what 2025 holds in store.
—Anna Newkirk
Anna has impressed us with her speed from her first day on the Frameworks bike. There are a lot of changes for her to adapt to this year switching to a new bike and components package, along with a new team. In our time together the team chemistry has been great and her pace has been impressive. Anna has proven she has what it takes through the results she achieved last season, and we can't wait to see what we can do together over the next two years.
Junior World Champ, Asa Vermette, is gearing up for his second and final year in the junior category. During our team test camp last month when these photos and videos were captured, Asa was still recovering from an injury sustained at the Loudenvielle World Cup. He was our designated shuttle driver, which is why we have no action shots of him here. We will have footage of Asa ripping the 2025 bike coming very soon from our test camp next week.
Angel Suarez showed us what he is capable of with 2 top-10 finishes and 4 top-20's in 2024. Angel dealt with some bad luck on a few occasions, sustaining injuries at inopportune times during the tight block of racing in the first half of the season, and with any luck, we will put that behind us in 2025.
Angel is an incredible talent on the bike and after a full season working together both Angel and the team know exactly what we need to do. We are looking forward to building on the momentum we had last season as we enter 2025.
I'm excited to take on the role of team manager and support these guys as they chase their goals. Asa and Angel are each incredibly talented riders but in opposite ways. Bringing them together as teammates has brought both of their levels up, and it was really gratifying to see them achieve some huge results last season. The sky is the limit for Asa, and when the pieces fall into place for Angel it's clear that he's on pace for the podium.
Bringing Anna into our team is an exciting addition and gives us another podium threat in a category that we have not yet competed in. I have so much respect for what she achieved putting her own program together the past few years with Beyond Racing and getting the results to back it up while managing all of that. She's the perfect fit for our team, and I'm excited to work together to bring her results to the next level.
As for myself, I've been training for the Pro Downhill Series and hope to balance supporting our riders at the World Cups with racing the Nationals myself, which will help me stay sharp for test riding. I feel very proud of the group we have this year and how far our Frameworks project has come over the past 3 seasons.
—Neko Mulally
Neko brings 16 years of World Cup racing experience to the team along with a history of test riding that gives our riders an advantage on multiple levels.
While our race bike may look similar to where we started, it has been refined through racing at the highest level over the past 3 years. The bike is the core of the Frameworks project, and with that comes a component package that aligns with our needs for performance. Huge thank you to these partners for their technical support through the products we use and their financial support for the team.
