Trek introduced the all-new Supercaliber today, a radical new XC race bike with a unique, structural suspension design that changes the game for cross country mountain bike racing.
Supercaliber delivers the light weight and efficiency of a hardtail and the control and traction of a full-suspension bike. It's the perfect solution for XC racers who want to hammer on climbs and sprints, and also keep speed through the rough stuff and rip descents.
Trek Factory Racing XC has raced Supercaliber on the World Cup circuit this year and will continue to compete aboard this game-changing bike for the remainder of the season and beyond.
"This has been that dream bike that I always wanted, but never existed until now," said Trek Factory Racing's Jolanda Neff. "I'll be racing nothing else from now on."
IsoStrut: an innovation in speed
Supercaliber gets its magic from IsoStrut, a structural, frame-integrated shock created in partnership with FOX suspension engineers that provides 60mm of damped, tunable rear travel.
IsoStrut is encased in a structural stanchion that prevents twisting, flex, and deflection. This unique design gives the bike the exceptional pedaling efficiency and removes the need for excess suspension linkages—along with the weight and excess lateral motion that typically come with them.
Built to race
Supercaliber will be available in four complete models. Each is equipped with an OCLV Mountain Carbon frame with Straight Shot down tube and Knock Block, a SRAM 1x12 drivetrain (including a SRAM AXS build on the highest-end model in the family) and Bontrager Kovee carbon wheels with Rapid Drive hub internals for nearly instant engagement when you stomp on the pedals.
Like all Bontrager carbon wheels, Kovee MTB wheels are backed by the Bontrager Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Program. If they're damaged within the first two years of ownership, we'll replace or repair them for free.
All Supercaliber models also feature 100mm of front travel, 29-inch wheels on all frame sizes for the best in momentum-preserving speed, and room to carry two water bottles in the main triangle.
Supercaliber will be rolling into Trek retailers now through November, depending on the market, and will also be available for customization through Project One.
