Speed Company Racing Wins Big at the Cape Epic

The German Speed Company Racing team, formed by riders Lukas Baum and Georg Egger, has won the most important MTB stage race in the world on their Orbea Oiz bikes, the best weapon to...Aim for the top.

The Germans go down in the history of the marathon for how they competed in the race, attacking from practically the very first day and finishing the last stage in a clear display of their great passion for this sport. Speed Company Racing has also emerged victorious from one of the toughest editions of the Cape Epic, where the heat, rain and numerous stomach problems made this race even more demanding. In the end, the Germans managed to come in 3:02 minutes ahead of the second place finishers and 10:38 minutes before the third-place team.

Lukas and Georg are two XC racers who have surprised the entire international MTB scene in this start to the year. After winning in the Costa Blanca Bike Race and the Mediterranean Epic, Orbea got in touch with them.

"At the Costa Blanca, we saw how two Oiz took the lead, and finally Georg came away with the victory, while Lukas came in 4th, just shy of the podium. We’re thrilled to see our bike at the top.
