Teva further expands Freeride MTB support by welcoming UK rider to team
Goleta, CA—To further expand its commitment to mountain biking on a worldwide basis, Teva® (a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation, NASDAQGS: DECK) has signed freeride extraordinaire Sam Pilgrim. Pilgrim marks the fourth mountain bike addition to the Teva Tribe since the brand launched its freeride shoes, the Links and the Pinner, earlier this year.
Pilgrim, originally from Colchester, has broken onto the freeride scene in the last two years taking the highest podium spot in 2011 at Vienna Air King, Monster Energy White Style, and he was the first European to make it onto the final Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour podium, taking victory at the season’s final event, the Red Bull District Ride.
“I’ve been watching the Teva Mountain Games since I started riding so I’m stoked to now be a part of the team,” says Pilgrim. “I’m looking forward to working with a brand that I have a great connection with and one that is so supportive of the sport and the community that surrounds it through events like the Teva Mountain Games and Crankworx.”
As the brand continues to push innovation in freeride mountain bike footwear, it will have the entire MTB team present for the first time at its inaugural Winter Teva Mountain Games February 10-12, 2012 in Vail, CO. Joining with names such as Jeff Lenosky (US), Cam McCaul (US) and Kurt Sorge (CAN), Pilgrim will be in good company for the coming season.
