All RideFast's wheelsets are designed to be strong, precise, and reliable. But, until now, they haven't been built with the increased constant power and instant torque demands of an electric motor in mind. During the last 2 years, RideFast noticed an increasing number of their Hotline & Mainline wheelsets being mounted on e-bikes. E-bike riders seemed to want to import the ride quality, tracking, durability, and Lifetime Guarantee of those two wheelsets into their pedal-assisted adventures.
To offer a solution for e-bike riders, RideFast has created the E-Line.
E-Line wheels combine RideFast's strongest rim, the Mainline (34mm internal width), with their SPM™ straight-pull hubs, along with a specific mix of spoke gauges and tensions designed to mute small-bump chatter while still maintaining lateral stiffness and also preventing the “wind-up” that often results from the increased torque of an electric motor.
While SPM™ hubs are already robust, featuring an oversized, 17mm, rear axle, and true, three-cross lacing (straight-pull hubs from many other hub makers count the spoke lobe as one of the crossing points leaving only 2 spoke intersections and decreasing their torsional strength), the E-Line's hub takes it one step further, utilizing an e-bike specific version of RideFast's US built, titanium freehub that delivers 33% stronger torque capabilities than their standard design.
The result is a Lifetime Guaranteed (rim AND hub) wheelset, handbuilt to charge the rowdiest conditions while allowing the rider to capitalize on the increased power offered by an electric motor without sacrificing the handling and ride quality for which RideFast is known .
E-Lines are available in 27.5”, 29”, and 29/27.5" (mullet) configurations with freehub drivers available for SRAM XD/R, Shimano HG, and Shimano Micro Spline. Wheelset price for all configurations is $1549.99. Wheels ship ready-to-ride tubeless and are offered with 7 color-change decal options.
