Standing on its own, Reserve is launching a new cross country wheelset, the 28|XC. Targeted at XC racing types and enthusiasts, the 28 stands for the inner width of the rim, 28mm. The XC part should be obvious. Touting a wider and lower rim profile, along with Reserve's spoke reinforcement and an improved inner channel to hold the bead at lower pressures, the 28|XC wheels sound almost more like a trail wheel.

Being launched without the Santa Cruz branding, Reserve is standing now as its own brand. Despite the change-up in the nomenclature, the same lifetime warranty riders are accustomed to applies. Of note, despite this being a svelte, XC wheel, Reserve does not have a rider weight limit on this wheel, all are welcome to give them a rip. Anyone think Danny Mac will give these a go? Just saying...
Eagle-eye racer fans may have noted these wheels already. The 28|XC was raced this past weekend at the XCO in Albstadt by the Santa Cruz-FSA team, as well has being raced domestically by the new Santa Cruz htSQD.
