Lightweight and powerful, Pivot’s new Shuttle SL amps up singletrack performance. Smooth, stealthy, and as nimble as any unassisted trail bike, the Shuttle SL will turn skeptics into singletrack superheroes.
The Shuttle SL is a cutting-edge new trail bike that redefines how we think about - and how we ride - mountain bikes. It blurs the defined boundaries between full-power e-MTB’s and lightweight unassisted trail bikes, bringing to life both the benefits of electric assist AND the telepathic responsiveness that only an absence of mass can provide. This is a game changer.
“The Shuttle SL bridges the gap between an analog bike and an e-bike,” says Chris Cocalis, founder and CEO of Pivot. “It gives you that same dialed in, nimble traditional mountain bike feel while the power characteristics provide that perfect amount of an assistance making it feel like you’re having a really strong day on the bike - only you get to have it every day! We did this by laser-focusing on the strength to weight ratio, geometry and suspension to create an insanely light, yet perfectly powerful e-MTB.”
Think of this as the ultimate bionic full suspension trailbike. a 36.25-pound (17kg) (World Cup build) , 132mm travel, do-it-all mountain bike with a 60Nm FAZUA motor hidden just above the bottom bracket and a 430Wh battery nested in the downtube. The FAZUA motor disengages completely when not in use; this makes for silent, drag-free operation when unassisted and an abundance of up-tempo, terrain devouring boost when you need it. The Shuttle SL brings the power to go further, the power to go bigger, with no weight penalty. Dw-link suspension, proprietary carbon fiber construction, size specific chainstays and super low standover all contribute to the Shuttle SL’s unrivaled performance; an e-bike that could only be the product of Pivot Cycles pedigree.

Fazua Drive System
FAZUA LED Hub - The LED HUB with its five color LEDs informs you not only about the battery charge and your riding mode. It also features a USB-C charging option, e.g. for your smartphone or GPS device, and an interface for ANT+ and bluetooth.
FAZUA RIDING MODES - Choose from three preset riding modes to adjust the support and give your ride that extra energy. All modes can be fully customized using the FAZUA app.
- BREEZE - Gentle and constant tailwind even with low pedaling power and cadence.
- RIVER - Progressive and very athletic mode. The strength of the support precisely follows your own power input. The more you give, the more support you get.
- ROCKET - Powerful assistance that helps you tackle the steepest and most difficult sections.
- New Boost function. This function briefly increases to 450 watts, no matter which support mode the cyclist uses.
THE ENERGY SOURCE
Even more compact and lighter than the Energy 430 is the Energy 430 Fix. At only 2.2 kg, it allows for an even more integrated frame solution. When moving the bike, the battery is automatically switched on.
- Weight - 2.2kg 4.85lbs
- Battery capacity 430Wh
The RIDE 60 Drive System has been developed to suit cyclists’ needs down to the last detail.
THE HEART
The RIDE 60 DRIVE UNIT is the heart of the system. It’s light and silent, powerful and compact – and guarantees FAZUA’s inherent natural, smooth pedal stroke. The unit weighs in at mere 4.32-pounds (1.96 kg) and its slim shape allows an elegant integration into the frame.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remove the battery if I need to charge it off the bike?
We would advise against it. The Shuttle SL battery is designed to be fully integrated into the frame without the need to remove it for charging. To provide the lightest and best performing bike in this category we chose not to build the Shuttle SL with a removable battery option. The battery can be removed but it requires specific procedures including removing the motor.
Why did you build the Shuttle SL with an integrated internal battery instead of the removable type?
There are a few great reasons for the use of an internal battery. We made the Shuttle SL over a pound (.5kg) lighter by designing our frame around the internal battery. Not only is the non-removable battery lighter but we were able to reduce wall thickness, and eliminate the additional parts needed for the removable version.
The integrated battery gives the Shuttle SL a beautiful profile with its slim clean downtube. In a pursuit to make our bikes as quiet as possible the integrated battery means there are fewer moving parts and a more secure fit for everything inside the frame making sure the only thing you hear is your tires on the trail and the nature surrounding you.
How long does it take to recharge the battery?
FAZUA states that it can take up to 3.5 hours to recharge the battery from being completely dead. In our experience, it’s hard to completely drain that battery and a battery with some charge tends to charge faster.
How many times can you recharge the battery before you have to replace it?
All rechargeable batteries gradually store less power with each recharge. FAZUA’s battery unit is designed to provide 1,000 recharges before it reaches the point at which replacing the battery is advised. At that point, the battery will hold 60% of its capacity vs. when new.
How much does it weigh?
The Shuttle SL’s lightest World Cup build starts at 36.25 lbs (under 16.5kg). Pivot bicycles are among the lightest available, but the weight is only one of many factors that make a great bicycle. Other aspects such as frame stiffness, strength, durability, and ride quality are just as important as weight to our engineers when designing the Shuttle SL. Instead of comparing grams, we suggest you visit your local Pivot dealer and see our attention to detail, smart, high-value spec, and class-leading features, but most of all the incredible performance of the new Shuttle SL. Bring a scale if you’d like, but take just one demo ride and you’ll feel why the Shuttle SL is the most well-rounded, highest performing e-bike on the market and, yes, it is among the lightest as well.
How wide of a tire can I run on the Shuttle SL?
The Shuttle SL can run 29-inch wheels with MAXXIS tires up to 2.4-inches wide. For other tires in the market, most will fit up to these dimensions. If you decide to change the tires or wheels that we have on our builds, we suggest you check the fit with your chosen rim and tire combination to make sure it has proper clearance.
How large of a rotor will fit on the Shuttle SL?
The Shuttle SL was designed for a 180mm rear rotor and features a 180mm post mount design, so you cannot fit a 160mm rotor on the Shuttle SL. A 203mm rotor will fit with the use of a post mount caliper adapter. World Cup builds come with 180mm rotor up front. All other builds come with a 203mm front rotor, which uses a 180mm-to-203mm post mount adapter. *The rotors we spec on the rear of the Shuttle SL have a magnet installed for use with the speed sensor. If you change your rear rotor make sure you have a magnet properly installed.
What hub/wheel spacing does the Shuttle SL use?
The Shuttle SL uses a 157mm rear hub spacing in a configuration called Super Boost Plus 157. Super Boost Plus 157 builds on the idea of wider flange spacing pioneered by Boost 148. Super Boost Plus spreads the flanges even wider (up to 14mm wider then a 142mm hub) and increases wheel stiffness substantially (Approximately 30% stiffer than boost), which is a huge benefit on e-bike wheels and frame strength, as well as chainring and tire clearance.
What travel fork can I use on my Shuttle SL?
The Shuttle SL was designed for either a 140mm or 150mm fork. The maximum travel length that can be used on the Shuttle SL is 160mm travel.
