New VC Guards Bracket Accommodates All Brake Levers 5

...and makes your cockpit even sleeker.

GOLDEN, Colorado (May 12, 2021) — VC Guards mountain bike hand guards already offer a unique design with industry-leading versatility and adjustability. Now, an improved bracket brings the guards closer to the handlebars for a sleeker look and feel.

VC Guards allow for adjustability in multiple directions to accommodate every rider’s needs. The redesigned brackets accommodate just about every brake lever on the market and brings the guard itself closer to your handlebars.

Moto riders have long understood the benefits of hand guards, not only for protecting the rider’s hands, but also for providing a shield between expensive components like brake levers and any impacts that can damage them.

VC Guards launched in 2019 to bring that same protection to the mountain bike world. “My years as a pro motorcycle racer made it clear to me that hand guards provide more than one type of valuable protection,” says AJ Eschwig, founder of VC Guards.

“Gloves only provide minimal protection against impacts and abrasions, but mountain bikes now are more capable than they’ve ever been. Riders are likely to ride at higher speeds, which means the consequences of impacts is much higher. VC Guards provide an indispensable level of protection for the rider’s hands, as well as valuable components like brake levers and carbon handlebars.”

The new VC Guards bracket features a shorter reach with a taller arc. This brings the guard itself in closer to the handlebars. Yet the unique bracket shape means they won’t interfere with any hydraulic brake levers on the market. It’s a perfect solution for riders eager to protect their hands and gear while maintaining a trim, sleek cockpit.

And the new bracket features a hinged clamp with a single pinch bolt that makes installation a breeze — no need to remove grips or levers.

Pro mountain bikers are starting to take notice of the benefits of VC Guards. “I never thought I would ever put hand guards on an Epic EVO,” says Specialized and Red Bull rider Curtis Keene (@curtiskeene). “I did the other day, and I’m just so stoked. It's such a weird thing. VC Guards somehow make you more confident when riding, especially with anything hanging in the trail, or when you’re leaning into turns with tall grass. It's crazy!”
