MDE Introduces Brand New Carve and Updates the Damper 2

After the great success achieved by the new Damper, the Carve is also completely updated taking advantage of all the technical improvements introduced on the enduro sister. New rear swing arm, new suspension pivots, oversized bearings; more rigid, lighter and more performing. The new Carve is aimed at those looking for a modern and super-performing trail bike!

Small updates also for the Damper with optimized geometries in order to fit the short offset forks and new AM and RACE whole bike set-ups both with SRAM GX Eagle and Formula Cura brakes. The first dedicated to All Mountain while the second designed for aggressive Enduro with RS Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate shock and RS Lyric Ultimate 170mm fork.

MDE bikes introduces the new aggressive trail biking frame, completely re-designed. The new Carve is more stable in pedaling than the previous one. It has the new I-LINK 2.0 suspension system introduced one year ago on the Damper. MDE's goal is to create a highly performing bike suitable for both behind-the-scenes shots and mountain epic rides; no limits. Fully customizable like any MDE product, starting from geometry, colors, details, components. Can be ordered immediately on the website (www.mdebikes.com). MDE offers standard geometries for both 29 "and 27.5" wheels. For the most demanding, tailor made geometry is available (Rider tuned geometry) with a surcharge of 180€. 

The new suspension pivots have increased diameter and oversized bearings made to MDE specifications by Enduro Bearings. The whole rear swing arm has been revised with new CNC made details and new more linear and lighter stays. The design of the new swing arm has been optimized to facilitate cleaning and mud discharge. The front triangle tubeset are also completely redesigned and made by hydroforming tecnology. New tapered head tube 44mm zero stack above and 56mm zero stack below and new MDE headset. MDE also introduces a new system for fixing the shock absorber to the rear swing arm with a special link that clamps the shock and connects to the rear swing arm via two bearings; this allows a better fluidity and better durability. A new external cable routing system has also been developed for the Carve (only the cable for the dropper post is integrated) with screwed clips that adhere the cables over the top tube. As an option, a 3-piece 3D printed cover will be also available, using the same anchor points as the clips, completely covering the cables, hiding them from view and protecting from dirt. 

About geometry, MDE continues to offer both 29" and 27.5" versions of the Carve. In the first case, the standard geometry is based on a 29" fork with 140mm of travel with a seat tube angle of 77.9° which guarantees exceptional behavior while climbing in combination with the very stable I-link 2.0 suspension system; the lengths of the top tube and reach are stretched, head tube angle of 65.5°, 30mm BB drop in order to get about 341mm BB height. With new compact head tube it is possible to get a smaller stack length, for more precision and better handling of the front wheel. The 27.5" geometry is based on a fork with 150mm  of travel and has a seat tube angle of 76.5°, reach and top tube similar to the 29" version with a head tube angle of 65° and BB height of 342mm.

MDE DAMPER UPDATED

Given the huge success of the new Damper, MDE decided to make only small changes by refining the standard geometries and optimizing them for the new short offset forks. In particular, the head tube angle has been decreased by half a degree, now becoming 65° for the 29 wheels geometry (with 160mm fork, became 64.5° with 170mm fork) and 64.5° for the 27.5 wheels geometry (with 160mm fork, became 64° with 170mm fork). MDE also offers two new whole bike set-ups.

The Damper works really well uphill so it is also perfect for creating an All Mountain machine with a dedicated and weight-conscious set-up. For this MDE proposes the new AM set-up with RS Deluxe Select+ shock absorber (155mm rear travel) and RS Lyric Select 160mm fork. The RACE set-up instead is aimed at Enduro / bike park use with RS Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate shock absorber (165mm rear travel) and RS Lyric Ultimate 170mm.

Frames and bicycles can be ordered starting from today. Customers can confirm the order with a 30% of deposit. The frames are always made to order and the average production and delivery time is 60 days.

The MDE frames are completely handmade in the workshop located at the base of the Susa valley close to Turin, a few steps from the mountains and the fantastic trails that have always inspired and stimulated the company.
