Dreambikes Update

$15,402 raised so far, enough to buy over 100 bikes for Wheels4Life

Laguna Beach, CA, November 30, 2010 – When crankbrothers first started the dreambikes program, the vision was to turn a few bikes into hundreds for people of third world nations through Wheels4Life. After two weeks of the dreambikes auction, we are proud to announce that we are on our way to accomplishing just that. So far, four dreambikes have been auctioned for a total of $15,402 – raising enough money to purchase 102 bikes. These bikes will provide children with a way to get to and from school, nurses with a way to access their patients, and parents with a way to earn a living for their families. The dreambikes truly are changing hundreds of lives.

We cannot express enough gratitude for the winners of the auctions so far: Christiano Samaro (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Ryan Black (California, USA), Eric Vensel (Florida, USA), and Jon Martens (California, USA). These four people can only be described as heroes. We hope that their dreambikes provide them with epic rides on trails all over the world. With bikes being sent across the country to Florida and out of the country to Brazil, that’s sure to happen.

Hans Rey and his wife, Carmen, are both humbled by the success of the dreambikes program, and Carmen would like to personally thank the auction winners:

"Thanks to the generosity our four auction winners, Wheels4Life is able to get 100 children to school in Uganda, thus giving them an education and a chance of a much better life and 60 healthcare workers out into the field saving lives. That is a pretty amazing achievement. Together we are creating a difference through the gift of a bicycle and we could not do it without incredible people like Christiano Samaro, Ryan Black, Eric Vensel and Jon Martens. On behalf of those children, the nurses and Wheels4Life, we thank you.”

There are three weeks of auctions left, with six beautiful dreambikes still available, featuring bikes from Ibis, Focus, and Titus. Each dreambike is impeccably spec’d with components from SRAM, RockShox, Avid, Truvativ, fi’zi:k, and Continental Tires. All of the proceeds from each auction go directly to Wheels4Life.
