Introducing the all-new BITS Integrated MTB Tool, a clever storage solution that allows riders to stow an essential trail toolkit in a mountain bike's steerer tube.
The Bontrager BITS Integrated MTB Tool features a bolted compression fitting that replaces a traditional mountain bike fork's star nut. The system allows riders to hide an included multi-tool and carrier cleanly out of sight yet always at the ready, without requiring a fork to be threaded or altered in any other way.
The compression fitting offers a secure and rattle-free hold for the tool and carrier, which is accessed through an easy-to-use pull-latch.
"This system is perfect for trail riders who want to keep their pockets light or prefer not wearing a pack or using a seat bag," said Michael Fitch, Trek's Director of Product for Essentials. "It's light, easy to install, and ensures your trail tools are always there when you need them."
The included multi-tool is equipped with a variety of hex bits, a screwdriver, and a chain breaker, along with storage space for quick links.
Two bolt lengths and multiple spacers are included for use on nearly all frame sizes and steerer tube lengths. It is not compatible with forks with carbon steerer tubes or bikes with threaded headsets.
The new Bontrager BITS Integrated MTB Tool is available immediately through Trek's wide network of global retail partners and online at trekbikes.com in select markets.
