We’ve had a fantastic 2012 season here at GT Factory Racing and we don’t take for granted the opportunities and support that we enjoy every day. We were inspired to talk to Hans Rey who is not only an extreme biking legend and former Mountain Bike World Champion but is the founder of Wheels 4 Life, a non-profit organization that provides bikes for people in developing countries in need of transportation to get to work or to school.

So, with a little help from our friends at theproscloset.com we’ve launched an ebay auction with 3 very special lots, all proceeds go to Wheels 4 Life.

These special edition GT Fury frames are part of a limited edition of 5 and are the actual frames used by Gee, Rach and Marc in the 2012 World Championships at Leogang. They are 100% carbon fibre and feature the red white and blue livery designed and produced especially for the three British riders.

In 2012 siblings Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton joined forces with GT Bicycles to form GT Factory Racing and secure GT rider Marc Beaumont as the 4th rider in the fastest overall team of the 2012 World Cup series. 2013 will see two new young riders join the team.

Wheels 4 Life
Wheels 4 Life was founded by Hans and Carmen Rey to give bicycles to people in need of transportation in Third World Countries. To date they have sponsored about 170 projects in 20 different countries. They have distributed approx. 4700 bicycles. Since bicycles are usually shared in the family and community, they have affected about 20,000 lives. They usually buy the bikes we give away, in the countries where they are needed, that saves much cost in shipping and logistics, custom hassles and it fuels the local economy.
