World Cup 4-cross, BromontAfter Monte Sainte Anne last week we drove 3 hours south towards Bromont. Being abroad and having a couple of days off between racing is nice, it gives you some time to check out the places that you travel to....and see more than the just the race site and the airports.
The 4-cross track was rough!! I liked it but had a hard time to get the right lines after the first two days of practice. I qualified 3rd and I knew I had to step it up for racing. On race day I jumped the pro section but I knew that was not going to be the place where eventual passing was going to happen. The first 2 turns and the rock sections were a bit more key I thought.
I won my quarter and semi final. In the final I was in gate number 3 with Fionn and Jill on the inside of me. My gate was good and I was able to cut a bit to the inside, Jill came underneath me in the first corner and I got totally brake checked. We were almost standing still!! Fionn was smart and rode around us. I was able to pass Jill in the rock section and managed to end up second! Second place helped me to extend the overall lead a little bit.....one more world cup to go.
Focus is on Worlds now.
Womens 4-cross result:
1st Fionn Griffiths
2nd Anneke Beerten
3rd Jill Kintner
4th Joanna Petterson
5th Melissa Buhl
