Freeride boostmaster, Andrew Taylor has a new home with Norco!
Press Release
Norco Bicycles sponsors riders from all disciplines of cycling. Road to cyclocross, downhill to cross country, and even in trials there is a rider for nearly every style flying the Norco flag proudly. While the Norco Factory Team is a program in and of itself with a stacked roster of sponsors such as SRAM and Kenda there are some riders who come to Norco with an existing listing of sponsors that they continue to ride for. In a case such as this, Norco sponsors elite athletes under the Norco Privateer Program. These athletes ride Norco Bicycles frames but outfit their bikes with other parts under their own program.
For the 2014 season the Norco Privateer Program has two new riders joining freerider Mike Hopkins including racer Adrienne Schneider-Evans and dirt jumper/freerider Andrew Taylor. Both be riding Norco bikes in the season to come. These three riders each bring their own roster of sponsors to the table in addition to Norco Bicycles and will be a fantastic addition to the 2014 Norco Team
Mike Hopkins has rolled into 2014 with Norco and will continue to represent the brand with international exposure in photo, video and select freeride competitions. Coming off a top season where Mike was featured in several major video releases, posed for numerous international magazines and competed in the Red Bull Rampage freeride competition, Mike is already setting his sights high for the coming year with even more ambitious projects on the horizon. Keep your eyes and ears pealed for Mike to be flying overhead aboard his Norco Aurum and Range.
Andrew Taylor joins the Norco Privateer Program from California where he has established his name as an elite freeride and dirt jump mountain biker. To many he is better known as A.T. in connotation with the annual A.T. Showdown. Andrew is a leader among his peers of mountain bike professionals drawing the world’s best to participate in his event. In addition to the AT Showdown Andrew also hosts a web series-turned TV series called the Seasons of Shred. With more than 140,000 views in 2013 the series will again travel the world telling stories of Andrew’s mountain bike adventures to an even larger audience.
Hailing from Incline Village, Nevada comes top local female downhill racer Adrienne Schneider-Evans. Adrian has been racing out of her Nevada home for a number of years and in 2013 she won the Pro GRT at China Peak and the Sky Tavern Dual Slalom, she placed 14th at the Sea Otter Classic DH and finished 3rd at the Nevada State DH Championships. Adrian will be racing a Norco Aurum for 2014 and will focus on western US events.
Welcome to the 2014 Team Mike Hopkins, Adrienne Schneider and Andrew Taylor. We are looking forward to the coming year’s riding adventures!
