I'm enjoying my 160mm 5Dev Enduro cranks, but at $1400 for the Titanium, they are only something around 60 grams lighter. Going from eeWings to 5Dev alloy cranks added some weight, over 1/2 a pound to be exact. I have not felt any particular difference in stiffness between eeWings and 5Dev, some there is something.

So, that last photo is clearly a bad Photoshop job, right? I can't add an image to this comment but look at the chainring and crankarms--the chainring is missing teeth; the grass visible through the crankarm and spider looks nothing like the rest of the background... I'm not sure if they added their cranks to a photo or just did a really messy job of blurring out the background, but that's pretty sloppy work for a press release. Weird.

This is my bike, I think it is just some weird artifact from the blurring or something.  You can see that the grass is not blurred in the cranks cutouts.  There was no stick, I was just holding the rear wheel and then letting go for a second while the picture was taken.

$1500 for cranks that arent even light? Save the $500 and buy eewings, stronger, cheaper, better looking.

It's so strange that they make a shitload of sizes, but intentionally omit the most common size.  That really seems like trend-chasing.

A lot of trends are for good reason (dropper posts) and some are terrible (35mm diameter bars)

I have a 175mm on a rigid bike, a 170mm on an Enduro Bike and a 165mm on a hard tail.  I completely understand why they don't offer the 175mm.  Most new bikes don't come with 175mm anymore due to the low BB heights, and nobody is buying a $1500 crank for an old bike.  I'm not totally sold on a 165mm, but I will never buy a 175mm again.  There really are a lot of benefits to the shorter crank arms.

I've not tried any shorter cranks, but I've been riding 175s for 33 years without any issues.  To be honest, it's unlikely I'll get an apples-to-apples comparison of a shorter crank, so I'll probably just keep buying what I know.  The 172.5 is so close to 175 that if I had to have these specific cranks I would just get those because that 0.1" really won't change anything.

After doing some reading on it, it really seems like if a 175 works for your body, then it's fine.  Going shorter just because that's the thing right now won't get you anything but ground clearance.

Ground clearance is the only thing worth it to me personally lol.  Don’t care about anything else.  160mm cranks have been totally “normal” feeling pedaling but, I can huck in to rock gardens and worry about one less thing hitting a pointy rock.  I would never buy $1500 titanium ones but I do like looking at them.

I broke 2 pairs and the warranty guy said "last lot unless you lose weight" im 95kg, 6ft, fit and healthy. like what the f%$k.
refunded as a scam through my CC buyer protection.
They also Block and delete people who have broken them on instagram - few other instances of the warranty guy just abusing customers.
I wouldnt trust those A-holes, ever.

No way that many have broken. They haven't sold that many. There's just a bunch of angry types on the internet trolling a premium brand. Not sure why they care. GX cranks are 80.00. If these guys are blowing 5 Devs at the rate they claim... They would be blowing up frames, wheels, suspension.
