Note it says Luca is 4th (he should be 5th). his points for the game (140) are accurate, so game results are correct. working on changing his result number now.
I‘m going to copy/paste something I texted a homey yesterday after semis:
Prediction: electronically controlled damping will shake up the game this year the same way 29ers did when the Syndicate brought them to the 2017 opener in Lourdes. Spoiler next: today in semis went Troy, Finn, Loic, Luca, 1-4; all of them on the same half second (😳), and all of them had computers in the fork and shock. Everyone else will be scrambling to get on the robot bouncers for round 2. 🏁
Did anyone notice the squirrel crossing the course in the right before the motorway in Juniors AND again in Luk Meier Smiths run? Right on the back wheel from screen right to left?

I suggested 2 years ago that they could hook up a GPS watch to the suspension that knows location or elevation on the mountain & triggers settings when I saw that the green light on Brunis bar could be seen from down track.
You wouldn’t face an indicator light on a bike down course unless it was for someone on track looking for it to monitor it the system was powered on

I'm not yet convinced. The podium was Loic, Troy, Finn, Dakotah, and Luca. Every one of those riders has either won a WC or been on a podium multiple times, and they've done that without the aid of electronically controlled damping. I think it's a stretch to say the new tech is what separated them from the rest of the field. Did electronic damping controls provide a competitive advantage on this specific track? Maybe. It's certainly possible. But we don't know how much the riders were using it, or if they were all using it in the same way (Flight Attendant and Loic's Ohlins remote might function in different ways internally). And we don't know if the advantage it might afford on the Fort William track is transferable to other venues, or other race conditions. So consider me still skeptical. Curious, but skeptical.

tl;dr one race is not conclusive.
I agree 100% with all your points, but perhaps you missed mine: not that the robots provided an advantage, but that others will be rushing to get on board for the perceived advantage.
USA Junior question - Did it look like the Tomlinson kid was rolling into the gate AS the clock was counting down?
Guessing he was late to the start trying to scramble for something he forgot...presumably goggles.
Whatever it was, glad to see him get a run in...goggles or not!
Asa would’ve been 12th in elite today. The top junior females had top 10 elite times. The new gen is scary fast.
We need receipts for all the folks from other countries either doubting the dude or boosting their favorite "up and comer".
Asa could have worn a fishing slicker and took home hardware.

Hahaha yes in juniors, and just fired up replay to just barely see him zipping out right before a right hand turn
good to see people paying attention to the real stuff too.

Fair. It will be interesting to see what the Fox-sponsored teams do (or don't do).

When I saw it squirt out behind the guy I thought it was someone's dog so I rewound it and was on high alert for the rest of the races to see if we might have an "incident". Then in Meier Smith's run, boom...again.
Interesting interview with Finn (among others) on the french speaking fullattack debrief show: Apparently as recently as 3 weeks ago he could not get the Ohlins electronic system to work for him and was considering moving back to his previous suspension setup!
I thought the coverage on Max was pretty good (I'm located in the US). Definitely seeing more of the track too compared to redbull days. Gwin commentary is nice too, though Rob is still very dearly missed. Currently only paying the $10 per month for Max, not gonna be thrilled when I have to pay another 16 on top of that (the sports add on that is currently free), but right now it's not too bad; watching the NBA playoffs on Max too so that helps as well. Not commenting on any other controversial aspects of DH (semis and no US races and 6 EU rounds) - bottom line for me is paying $10 a month to watch some world cup dh racing with pretty good camera work and pro commentary not bad at all.
Fort Bill attendance for finals looked way down as compared to in the past. Was I imagining that?
WynTV interviews with riders afterwards had great insights.
Captain No Goggles was b/c the marshalls at the gate called him into the start gate without warning. He said they told him "10 seconds" and he just rolled straight through the gate. You could see him still rolling into the start house on the live stream.
BK said it best...Semi's sucked and there were a ton of riders not around for the big show on Sunday making it less exciting.
Get rid of Semi's.
Luca & Troy on a bike they'd only had since February.
Vali can squat 140...kilos? pounds? RedBulls?
Nina can't.
Benoit stuck in his biggest gear the whole race.
Finn busting Loic's balls for his moto disc covers
GM wrecked twice and his shoulder was lost pulling up on the bars causing the 2nd crash (saw his head go back on the live stream going down so that explains that odd motion)
Junior women's winner may be gangster.

I don't think you're imagining lower attendance, I thought the same. Wyn TV was interesting, I'm loving the longer format.
Another thing that I picked up on WynTV was ASA's only ride after recovering from his hip injury and before going to Fort Bill was at Glencoe, probably a more physical and brutal track than Fort Bill. Certainly not somewhere I'd choose as a "warm up" location (I get why they did, it's just up the road).
I'll just assume I'm the smartest guy in the room and the 80+ riders, families, friends, teams, supporters and fans who got told you can't play Sunday....packed up & went home to watch the "live" stream of a measly 30 guys. If anyone in the media world has contacts with the venue, would love to know if vendor sales/local economy took a hit compared to prior years.
My criticisms...not a fan of Puffy Spice or the guy in booth not named Gwin.
And....they thought we were idiots again piping in "shreddy" sounds during the quiet bits of the track to make it sound like a rider was ripping mic-ed up. Awful bit of production
According to Neko’s instagram: The Frameworks van got stolen from hotel parking lot and recovered. All frames and wheels (race bikes and Spesh e-bikes) stolen out of it and missing. Sucks so bad.

Oh man, what a shitty thing. Wonder if they have anything sitting around at home. When does practice start for Poland, thursday? Gonna be so tight to try and scrape something together. Wonder if another team is going to come through and loan some stuff.

I love full attack videos, it seems that it feels like a family show to french riders and they always bring up interesting topics and answers. Also post FW show had great intro: Here is the winner, the man to beat, no need to introduce him... speaks for another minute. Loic finally gets to speak: "You didnt tell my name"
Tried going to the UCI webpage to see if they were doing updates like is done for enduro, not even that site is working.
Carlson’s stoke is undeniable and I like him a lot. But I am thrown off by his no mustache Abe Lincoln beard.
Fantasy results are in.

(checks my score) "nice I'm above average! decent start"
(checks what the best possible score combo would be) "oh... oh i might be playing this all wrong. hmmm well sh!t"

Hard hitting news. You're welcome folks.
