Hello,
I am currently looking for a new bike. I would like a bike that can do uphill easily as well as downhill, be able to hit some jumps, and be able to go long distances on the road.
I love in washington state so something that is also durable would be great. I dont have budget or anything, however i dont mind buying new or used.
I have looked at a couple of brands such as YT, GT, Transition, Nukeproof.

I am a big guy, im 6`3" and about 240 so i need something thats going withstand the abuse of my size.

Thanks for any advice or information.

A “Magic” bike?

There are compromises- “Uphill easily” - light, shorter travel. Electric?!?
Hit some jumps/240lbs - stronger, more travel, bigger tires.
Long distances on the road - Not knobbys!

I’d get a Giant Trance 29er (Lifetime warrenty on frame). Highest model in your budget, (Pro 1?) and a second set of wheels with road tires.

Transitions seem to be very popular here in Washington, they seem to be pretty tough too. Im sure you could pick up a first gen Sentinel pretty cheap right now and then buy a second bike for your road rides. If you are just going a mile or two on pavement a mountain bike will be fine.

Take a look at the Kona Process 153. Not sure what the weight restrictions are on the CR DL (carbon) model, but they have the aluminum version as well.

I too live in Washington and the Kona is perfect for our trails. Happy to share more details on it.
