What Bike Feature is Most Important to You?

Since we all know the color of the bike is most important followed by wheel size : ) what do you look for next in bike-buying decisions?

Obviously all of these features are equally important, but pick the feature you consider most. It's fun, right?

Torn between travel and a geometry. But I will add the disclaimer that it's the quality of travel versus the amount of travel for me. As I was first getting into biking and I would encounter unusual behavior my immediate thought was that I needed more travel. Now that I've biked a bit more i've seen the value of a quality damper.

I voted for weight as most important only because after many years & many bike models through the decades that I've ridden weight is a factor, geometry would be number 2 on the list but I have found that this day & ago most bike makers get the geometry pretty good on the first try!!!

And a follow up comment, who really needs a high end full suspension Fat tire bike !!!
I have ridden no suspension fatbikes and they are great! ( Next we will be seeing Red Bull Rampage on fate tire bikes)

Geo for me as it needs to fit the type of riding that I do. Suspension travel should be more a derivative of the geo, I think. Weight comes next.

It seems to me that the geometry is largely determined by the wheel travel, at least in a general way. For instance, I'm looking at 6"and 6+" travel bikes. For the most part, that's "enduro" geometry: long, low and slack. You could say the same about 8" travel bikes, but with some changes for downhill purposes. A 4" bike would be steeper and shorter. You won't find many razor-sharp, steep-geometry bikes sporting 6" of travel.

Of course, if we're talking about geometry between the brands that manufacture long, low and slack 6.5" bikes, now that's a different story.

I obsess over the geometry of the bikes I dream of owning, but then reality reminds me that I don't have much of a clue on what the "best" geometry for me is. I have some general numbers that I pretend to myself are a good fit for me, but I have yet to really put those numbers to the test. I do believe though that a bike feeling like it fits right is more important then the travel or the weight, though those things are important enough to consider, but I would rather have a bike that fits perfectly with a little less travel than I want and a little more weight than I want than to have a super light, long travel bike that feels scary to ride.

Geometry all the way, a 20kg 100mm bike with good reach, bb height, and head angle will outperform the crap out of an 8kg 160mm bike with short reach, a high bb and steep head angle.
