no price is set, but maybe if we crowdfund hard enough, we could scoop it up and kick out the golfers?

That's a quirky article. Sounds like GR was supposed to be an easy walk of a pet project (in the buyer's mind), but as we all know, working with BLM and local government is one of Dante's levels. While it would be impressive and exciting to see this get turned back into a summer destination for MTB and other activities, it sounds like it's going to be a while before the place is even ready to open for lunch. Best bet is let the big umbrella corps buy it up and throw a proposal their way for land access and use - whatever local cycling club exists in the area might have the opportunity to really accomplish some cool stuff out there.

Wow. Hope it works out for the best. Have a lot of great memories there. Post rain silky laps, and the larger features on buck and cougar. Be sad to see it go away.

This is all private land so they can build anything their insurance companies let them. That said, the main focus at GR is real estate. I ride GR all the time (trail ride today). They still operate and are getting ready for ski season now. It is fully functional but anyone who is going to buy it is going to buy it for the real estate as it is a big chunk of land to put houses on.

Ah, 10-4. My misunderstanding. Coffee wasn't running strong enough this morning!

Hey @sideshow , GR isn't shutting down FYI, they are just for sale. Also, there is no need for dealing with BLM etc since it's all private land and you can build whatever you want, whenever you want. It should be noted that these people were offered $95Million for this place and they said no, so, I doubt it's going to sell....

As GR is a great bike hill, it's an awful place to ski unless you're in jeans and from out of state. So I don't see any large ski areas buying it up.
