I've been sort of window shopping for an emtb lately and noticed that on a lot of models where on a comparable mtb you'd find a reservoir shock the emtb has one without.
Is there any technical reason for that or is it mainly to keep prices down?

According to my logic the forces on an emtb should be greater so the reservoir would make sense to me.
Lots of top-of-the-line models have reservoir shocks so they can't be totally incompatible?

Inline shocks would only be used in 3 different cases. 1. for either weight saving on a XC or light trail bike ( pointless on an EMTB ) 2. limitations on room for a piggyback shock and 3. for keeping prices down as piggyback shocks are more expensive. From what you are describing, i would image that they would only be for keeping prices down.

It's just about sticker price.
