Going through some old photos, I found some gems and figured i'd embarrass myself and share.
LET'S SEE YOURS!!
circa 1998 or 1999 on my 'beer can super 8' with x-vert carbon, deemax wheels. XTR cranks with 46 tooth DH ring. come on, this whip is dialed! 2.6 gazzilodi jr up front, tioga DH 2.35 in the rear.
this was at flatirons crossing in broomfield colorado before it opened. i would drive around all over looking for retaining walls and hucks. good lord...i blame canada.
turn bar anyone? NOTE, FULL GRIP!
i think this is my first attempt at taking a mountain bike photo. andrew adare (my long-time friend) on a set up we thought was outrageous, LOL. I just bought this Marzocchi Z1 fork and could not believe how 'plush' it was. A Gary Fisher Tassajara is the perfect bike for a Z1.

Picnic table trials....2001?
I can't tell if that was 02 or 01 or what? It was definitely around the time of the Telluride World Cup because we were riding tires that we dug out of the trash there for sure and I don't think most of us could drive. The god damn Ataris soundtrack tells me that our taste in music is late middle school or early high school.
Anthropological date estimates via web videos!
I'll have to dig up some old prints and scan them. Good lord, I have stuff that old! I know I have a big stack of Kodak Advantix APS prints some where, almost all of them senselessly left in panorama mode.
Me, COMPLETELY worked after my first hard day on a mountain bike ever (I'm the kid standing there practically asleep in the blue shirt). We were a few days into the Kokapelli trail. I bought my first kinda legit bike just for this trip and got hooked. 2000 maybe?
This is the oldest action shot I can find at the moment, but it's from about 8 months after I really started riding (aka hucking stuff). I'll have to dig through some boxes to find the hilarious ones of me riding ledges and stupid drops to flat.
Big Hit Pro w/ a 24" rear wheel, 6" of travel (I think?) and a sweet Stratos POS fork. Probably snapped 15 of those crowns and the warranty lady knew me by name. Haha. Good times.
Boy was there some sweet ano'ed gear on those over the years!
1997, when 2" rise DH bars were perfect for speedjumping the back straight during 12 hour XC races on motocross tracks in Florida.
99 Collegiate champs
Note the fat tires, 24" back wheel, burly BMX crank...I think this bike weighted around 35 pounds.
Ya thats right... I raced The Bullet on a Hardtail Giant Warp SE in shorts with no armor wearing a XC Helmet and I didn't come in last!
