Hello,
I just wanna say that I'm new to the forum and hello. I live in Englewood,FL and just recently bought a new bike after 20+ yrs. I used to ride a Cannondale Killer V hardtail with a Manitou fork. I was looking at a XC bike. I was almost ready to dish out almost $5,000 on a XT Santa Cruz Tallboy but found a SLX Niner on Clearance for $2,600 %40 off. The xt version was $4,200. I took the bait and bought the Niner Jet 9 RDO SLX. I was thinking of swaping out the SLX rear derailer and Shifter for XTR. Should I just use the SLX now and swap out the whole drivetrain for SRAM Eagle when the SLX is toast? I know that Niner had financial issues in the past. Did I make a bad decision and let the money savings steer me in the wrong direction? What do you think? Any feedback will be interesting to read good or bad.

You're on a good bike. Is this it?
My suggestion is to run that drivetrain into the ground! Unless you feel you don't have sufficient gear range, there's no sense in upgrading until it's well worn. Depending on your terrain, a grippier front tire like a Minion DHF would likely be a better immediate upgrade, imo. Put that Ardent on the rear.
