Currently on a 2019 Meta 29 in L, stock was 460 reach and with the angleset it’s closer to 455. I’m 183 and after hopping on an evil wreckoning and pivot firebird (previous gen) I found that the 470 reach suits me a bit better. Still prefer chainstays on the shorter end though.
So now I’m looking for a 170/160 or 170/170 travel frame, 64ish hta, 470-475 (480 max) reach, and 435ish chainstays, preferably alloy. The 2021 meta would fit but 495 reach is a tad long for me.
Thanks in advance.

Rocky Altitude, nukeproof mega(440cs) otherwise youll have to do what i did and im bang on 183cm aswell, wanted a bike that could plow with a slack HTA, comfy climb pos, short enough to be agile an short CS for the real fun and had to go to a AM bike, like marin alpine, sight etc.
you can put a 170 fork on a sight.
the most surprising bike was the alpine cheap and good value, 63.5 hta but steep sta and comfy seated position combined with the 430cs, low leverage with coil was soooo good, i had several at the bike park ride it who normally ride expensive brands with name tax and converted them - they now ride alpine XR's.
The previous gen pivot firebird has 475mm reach and 431mm chainstay in large.
Status looks like a fun bike but I want to stay full 29er.
And I still absolutely love my Meta, but in steep and rough terrain I find myself hanging over the front wheel a bit too much and I don’t have the confidence to go full speed that way. Previous firebird would be my absolute dream bike, but very expensive (carbon) frame, would need new shock and rear wheel, so it’s unfortunately not really an option.
Still kinda tempted by the 2021 Meta, frame is 1600 bucks and I can use all my parts. But the enduro mag review is making me a bit hesitant haha
But thanks already to everyone
For the sight just up the rear travel like the EWS riders did , brung it to around 160ish.(longer stroke shock)
i rode both sizes of the META 21 and wasnt a fan, ones too long and ones too compact, their Enduro bike is more of a freeride bike, they make a mint DH bike though
Remember Richie and alot of other ews riders run 150 rear.
Good luck finding stock however...
They are awful, but more power to ya.
Though I whole heartedly agree. Short chainstays with a long reach necessitate an uncomfortably front biased weight distribution to maintain traction on the front wheel. It get's really tiring on rougher tracks.
