Let's Build the Most Expensive DH Bike Ever

Edited Date/Time 12/28/2018 11:14am
Can we figure out the most expensive custom DH bike build using true DH worthy parts?

Find and post components and their MSRP and I'll add it to the build. If someone finds a more expensive part, I'll replace it in the overall list and it'll evolve from there. PLEASE post both the product name, the MSRP (in USD) and a link to the site which has the price listed and I'll add it to the build assuming it'll fit the build.

Currently, the most expensive frame we've found, unless we go with a gearbox or something, is the Specialized S Works Demo at $4,500 (thanks Kusa for finding that).

Keep in mind, with a gearbox bike shifters and drivetrain is generally included, so we miss out on some spendy items going that route. It might offset that though, depending on how much the frame is.

Here's the evolving build list so far:

Frame: Trek Session Frameset--------------------------------------- $4,999
Fork: Avalanche MTN-8 w/ all the upgrades ----------------------$3,825

Hub Upgraded 54pt Ratchet--------------------------------------------$100
Spokes/Nipples: Sapim CX Ray spokes w/ alloy nips------------$188
Rims: ENVE M90 --------------------------------------------------------- $999 x 2
Derailleur: SRAM X01 DH -----------------------------------------------$272
Pulley Wheel Upgrade: CeramicSpeed 3D printed Ti ------------$871.28
Cassette: SRAM XG-795 Cassette -----------------------------------$284
Chain: TBN 11sp Ti ------------------------------------------------------ $200
Shifter: SRAM X01 DH ---------------------------------------------------$141
Brakes: Trickstuff Cleg 4 mk II----------------------------------------- $499x2
Rotors: Formula 2-piece al.--------------------------------------------- $138.99x2

Chainguide: MRP G4 Carbon--------------------------------------------$224.95

How high can we get this baller bike build to get?

Go!

Sweet! Added until we figure out if those FSA cranks are really an option for a DH bike.

And FYI, I'm going to use US MSRP to keep this consistent.

I think öhlins offers the fork with the cart pre-installed for around $2,100. BOS for US pricing is still higher.

Went to double check your prices and stumbled on the DT Swiss 240s' retail... $475/$301.

I'll check chainguilds out really quick and add to list.

Boom! Good catch. Added to the list.

We're quickly getting up to the $15,000 point and we're still short a handful of components.

Boosh! Over 15K with the addition of the drivetrain.

I know some of the build could have more expensive parts that what we've listed so far. Gonna dig around later to see if I can't find some spendier items.

Choose hubs like: Kapius, Industry 9, profile elite rear, Chris king.
for shifting take a look at German brand Across and their hydraulic AG E drive train, I think they sell them for 1500euros front and rear...
Or a box components set
