Curious on what kind of handle bar rise and stem angle/length you taller riders are running? I am 6 foot 4 and ride a Santa Cruz Hightower XL
Kinda wanna put a 29” wheel on the process to lift the front, and because that’s super hot right now
It seems like most frame manufacturers are still pretty conservative with their headtube lengths. The new XXL Spire and Capra are both 130mm. SC is a bit of an outlier on this but I'm a fan.
Running a 40mm rise 800mm wide FU40 with a 35mm stem and 40mm of spacers including the headset cap.
A lot of the terrain we ride here is steep and steppy. This set up is bias towards that sort or riding but I also like it when riding more mellow terrain. Maybe that's just familiarity.
I can't really contribute as I haven't had a real trail bike in decades. On my homemade DH and slope bikes though I was leaning towards lower bars toward the end of my riding career to get better balance on the bike and trusting the front end grip more.
There don't seem to be too many riser stems available. Renthal does their Duo stem in 40 and 50mm reach with a 10mm rise. Hope does a 35 / 50 / 70 mm 20 degree rise stem as well. Both run 31.8mm clamps. I'd be interested to see if anyone knows of any other options out there.
This calculator can be helpful for getting an idea of what you'll gain in terms of height and what the actual reach of the stem will be when you factor in the degree of rise.

Pretty easy to get long frames these days; really dang hard to get frames with enough stack to match.
50mm stem
850mm bars with 38mm rise
Around 25mm of spacers but contemplating moving the stem down a wee bit.
Need all the stack I can get.
