He might have brought it back. I USED to do that on purpose at the dirt jumps. Get all nose down whipped, land on the front wheel at the top of the landing, let gravity accelerate your front wheel down the landing thus straightening out the bike before the rear wheel touches down and you ride away in safety. BUT! If you come back to the jumps after a week away and forget to check your tire pressure your front tire might roll and you might crash and badly bruise your spleen like I did. It was fun while it lasted.
